The Story Behind
P C Kelly
P C Kelly was built from determination, sacrifice and one simple goal: providing a better future for a young family.
Before starting the business, founder Peter Kelly spent years working away, carrying out industrial work and later contracting on solid fuel heating installations. When the miners' strike hit, the work disappeared overnight, leaving Peter facing an uncertain future at one of the most important times in his life.
At the same time, Peter was in the middle of moving house with his wife and two young children. Ryan was just four years old, and his younger sister was only two. Signing on for benefits would have affected the mortgage on their new family home, so with no guarantees, no safety net and only £100 in the bank, Peter made a decision that would change the course of his family's future.
To complete his very first central heating installation, Peter relied on an overdraft simply to purchase the materials needed for the job. From there, everything was built the hard way: long days, late nights, working weekends and earning customers one at a time through honesty, reliability and pride in his work.
What began as one father's determination to provide for his family grew into a respected local business. Established in 1984 and incorporated as a limited company in 1990, P C Kelly Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning
has since become a trusted name across Rotherham and South Yorkshire. Today, the company is proudly run by Peter's eldest son, Ryan Kelly. The little boy whose future his father was fighting to protect all those years ago now leads the business into its next chapter.

I have been part of this business for as long as I can remember. As the son of our founder, Peter Kelly, I grew up around the company and learned first-hand the values of hard work, honesty and customer service that it was built upon.
Starting at a young age, I worked my way through every level of the business, gaining hands-on experience across plumbing, heating, project management, customer service and business operations. This practical experience, combined with decades in the industry, has given me a deep understanding of both the technical and commercial sides of the business.
Today, I am proud to lead the company as Managing Director, continuing the vision that my father started more than four decades ago. One of the most important decisions I have made was purchasing the business to ensure it remained within the Kelly family and continued serving customers with the same values it was founded upon.
Over the years, we have expanded from our traditional plumbing and heating roots to become a trusted provider of domestic and commercial plumbing, heating, air conditioning and ventilation services throughout South Yorkshire and across the UK.
For me, the greatest satisfaction comes from completing projects that leave customers genuinely delighted with the result. Nothing means more than earning the trust of our customers, receiving their recommendations and seeing them return to us whenever they need reliable support.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, supporting local charities and community projects, following Rotherham United and continuing to develop and grow our family business for future generations.
Today, I lead a growing team of directly employed engineers delivering domestic and commercial plumbing, heating, air conditioning, ventilation and mechanical projects. My aim is to continue building on the reputation my father created while investing in our people, equipment, technology and systems so the business remains strong for future generations.
